Here are the Preparatory and Maintenance steps that you will want to follow to enjoy your Sunless Tanning Service. If you have any questions, please call 919.828.1080

1. Do not apply body lotions or oils the day of your sunless appointment.
2. Wear a loose fitting, cotton and dark colored outfit. Avoid wearing boots, socks, and/or Uggs.
3. Shaving legs, bikini, and underarms before the spray will increase the tan’s longevity.
4. Do not get wet or sweat for the 6-8-hour processing time.
5. Make your experience more comfortable by drying in our Red Light Phototherapy booth.
6. Avoid touching your body with your palms. For example: crossing your arms, resting palms on arms, resting palms on face or under chin. No “Sweet Potato Palms!”
7. If you want to wash your hands during processing, consider wiping PALMS ONLY with a damp paper towel or wipe to avoid rinsing the color off. No “White Glove Hands” either!
8. Accidents with water can happen…if you get wet DON’T rub it dry; rather blot, dab, and blend. The color is more forgiving when approaching peak processing time.

Important Disclaimer: We want to ensure that our spray tans out glow any others, which is why we included the Sunless Extender as part of the New Guest Spray Tan Package. The Sunless Extender is a highly moisturizing, tinted lotion. It is formulated to refurbish deteriorating collagen, giving the skin back it’s elasticity. This innovative formula optimizes wrinkle reduction, while adding bronzing agents.

We do not allow our New Guests to opt out of this package deal. If this is something that is unwanted by a new guest, we will kindly suggest that Physios Sunless Tan is not the right place.
This Package is a one time fee of $68.98.

The Sunless Extender should be applied after the first 5 showers following your spray. The longevity of the end-result and product are reliant on this crucial step.

*You may also use your extender as a daily moisturizer or regular body lotion for fantastic color every day!

● Some users have found that Dove soap and shower gel will fade a tan faster

● Curel lotion

● Hair inhibiting lotions (Jergens) tend to make a sunless tan yellow

● Anti-aging products that “renew” “refresh” or otherwise exfoliate the skin

● AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids – glycolic, lactic, malic, citric, and tartaric acids)

● Retin– A type products (Retin-A, Renova, Tazorac, Tretinoin)

● Toners containing alcohols or witch hazel

● Anti-acne products that exfoliate the skin – accutane, salicylic acid

● Harsh makeup removers

● Bar soaps, especially deodorant varieties

● Usage of loofa, scrub mitt, etc..for daily washing use a soft wash cloth.

● Removal of adhesive tape or band aids

● Facial masks and exfoliating scrub

● Biore type adhesive facial strips

● Wax hair removal

● Depilatory hair removal products (Nair, Veet, Neet, etc)

● Shaving exfoliates skin, which fades your tan. (Clients should always use a sharp clean razor with a lubricating product/hair conditioner, which will not damage a tan. A dull razor scrapes off more skin and “tan”).

● Pat dry in the shower, do not rub.

● Body hair bleach.

● Submersion in hot tub, swimming pool with chlorine, salt water. –An application of a thick waterproof lotion sun block helps

● A woman’s tan may also develop differently during various hormonal changes (ovulation, menstruation, menopause, or pregnancy). It may fade harsh, produce a light color or no color, and/or a patchy effect.

● People with oily skin tend to develop a lighter tan then people with dry skin. The oil can coat the skin while the dry skin absorbs more products at a faster rate.

● Bug spray or perfumes when sprayed directly on the skin, can remove or fade the tan.

We REQUIRE A 24 HOUR NOTICE if you need to RESCHEDULE or CANCEL your appointment. If it’s your 1st visit with us or if you’d like to do just single sessions, we reserve your appointment with a Credit Card #. We won’t charge any amount to the card unless you were to no show or cancel/reschedule late. We understand that emergencies do happen. If you are late, we will make a valiant effort to work you in, but we must follow the schedule. The worst-case scenario would be that you’d forfeit your appointment if you could not wait.
